These are a Few of my Favorite Words

Since I haven’t finished a couple of the longer blog posts I’m working on, I decided to go with a fun little one, where I share with you some of my favorite words that are either obscure or really fun to say, and their definitions!

Which did you like the best? Were any of them new to you? Tell me, what are some of your favorite words?

I love all those words! Especially argent. I’ve actually never known about “flipperling” but that’s hilarious, I like it XD

You know, it would be interesting if you made it a signature blog series. I mean, your blog is called “The Music of Words” 😉 Just a thought.

I actually learned the word “flipperling” from a song I sang in choir, called “The Seal Lullaby” composed by Eric Whitacre. (You should listen to it sometime if you can; it’s beautiful.) The text was taken by a poem by Rudyard Kipling about a mother seal singing to her baby seal, and since it uses “flipperling” in there our teacher told us what it meant and I think it’s pretty adorable. 🙂

What do you mean by a blog series? Like, me doing this for multiple posts where I share words and their definitions?

You should! I love that song.

Ah, okay. I’ll think about it; that does sound interesting. I’m at least going to do another post like this sometime…not sure if it’ll become a series, but it will appear again!

I love this list of beautiful words! My favorite one is Petrichor. Some of my favorite words are Zilch and Hitherto, I just like the way they sound and their meaning.

My favorite words are: shimmer (bet you never guessed that), quiescent, and benighted. I also have a few others I really like, but those are the top three.

I like scintillating in your list. And cacophony is fun to say out loud.
