About Me

Hi! I’m Lana, a young writer, singer and a Christian, as well as a couple of other things. I’ve been writing since I can remember, but I really began writing novels in 2013, when I was introduced to NaNoWriMo, and basically sold my soul to the writing demons. My life is now consumed by thinking about writing, talking about writing, reading writing, and actually writing.

I’ve also been singing since I can remember, as well as playing the piano, but I’ve been doing less of the latter and more of the former ever since I took my first choir class in school. I’ve been in school choirs, church choirs, and several other choirs since then. My favorite part of singing in choirs is conveying the message of the song to the audience. I believe that words are some of the most powerful things in the world, but words along with music have the ability to change people in a single instant.

I’m a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons), and I love my religion. Feel free to ask me any questions, or go to mormon.org if you want to learn more. I love to learn about other people’s religions and see what they believe, so it’d be great to have a discussion about it with you.

So that’s me! (Although, it doesn’t quite do my weird sense of humor justice, but that’s okay, you’ll find out about that soon enough, heh.)

Thanks! I’ve been nominated three times (though I think you were the first to do so, I was just gone and didn’t notice) so I’m going to answer all 33 questions, which’ll be fun…

Hehe, no problem. And I think a couple of them will be similar, but I don’t know if any are actually the same…I haven’t read through all of them yet though, so I don’t know.

Well, during November, you choose a word count goal for your novel that you want to reach (the general goal is 50,000 words in a month, but if you’re under 18 on the Young Writers Program you can change that to whatever you think will be good for you). Then at the beginning of November, you start writing a new novel and try to write that many words in it.

There’s also Camp NaNoWriMo which is basically the same, except that it happens in April and July, you can do projects besides novels (like screenwriting or revisions or poetry), and you can have a word count goal lower than 50,000 regardless of age.

Does that make sense? If you have more questions I’d be more than happy to answer them! Also, here’s a link to all the websites I mentioned:

        NaNoWriMo (ages 13+): http://www.nanowrimo.org
Camp NaNoWriMo (ages 13+ & same username/account as the site above): http://www.campnanowrimo.org
Young Writers Program (ages under 18): http://www.ywp.nanowrimo.org

It’s only in April, November and July right

Yep, that’s right. In between months, a lot of people revise the novels that they’ve written, though I usually just end up starting new novels…

Ooh, it sounds fun! I will definitely think about it, especially since right now I’m at a lack for what advice-y things to write…maybe I shall do a post with one of these if I can choose something to write it about. Any suggestions?
